THE SIMONINI STORY

Simonini has a rich history that it is honored to carry on into the homes they build today. Read below for some important dates and accomplishments of the Simonini business and family.

1983

Alan’s brother, who was a salesman for Oscar Mayer, came to work on the family business. With his brother’s salesman eye, lots were purchased and spec homes developed.

1973

Simonini Builders was founded by Alfred Simonini, after he retired and moved from Chicago to Lake Wylie and started building houses as a rather ambitious hobby. He brought his son Alan with him and built four homes – Alfred as the builder, young Alan serving as the cleanup guy.

1980s-2000

Simonini invested in the new neighborhoods of Lake Norman in the late 1980s, which led to more and more work in nearby luxury neighborhoods like The Peninsula and The Point. It also expanded to Ballantyne and The Farm.

1993

Alan took over and purchased the company from his father.

2001

Simonini Renovations was launched with Bob Pugh to bring the same quality of service to clients’ renovations as it did to new builds.

2000

Simonini started the Neighborhood division (now Collective)

2006

Simonini was recognized with the prestigious Triple Crown of homebuilder excellence, receiving the National Housing Quality Award in 2001 (and again in 2010), America’s Best Builder in 2003 and National Builder of the Year in 2006.

2001

The company developed Connor Quay (a 23 lot, gated luxury waterfront community) and Heydon Hall (a 133 lot community), which truly launched the business on a larger scale. It also opened a South Carolina office to serve the Charleston area and developed Christenbury Farm (Concord) and Robbins Park (Cornelius).

2009

Simonini Builders was not immune to the 2008 recession and made the decision to close the business as it existed then.

2020

The Commercial division was created to bring a commercial building approach to luxury construction, beginning with the 1500 Queens development.

Jan 1, 2010

Not ready to give up on his passion for luxury homebuilding, Alan joined forces with John Tammaro of Tammaro Builders and created Alan Simonini Homes as a new entity.

2023

Simonini continues to grow and adds a best-in-class Realty division in order to meet the growing needs of its clients, by bringing the Simonini approach to real estate.
