John Tammaro
Owner & President

Since graduating from Purdue University with a degree in Building Construction Management in 1998, John has continuously found his calling in the construction industry. He grew up in Highland Park, IL and moved south where he met his wife, Jennifer. John, his wife, and their three children live in the town of Davidson where they enjoy boating and being outdoors. He is an avid snow skier and loves traveling with his family. John is a member of many community service organizations and is a licensed General Contractor and NCRE Builder.

Alan Simonini
Founder

Alan has had a lifelong passion for changing the way home building is done in America. He grew up in Elmhurst, Illinois outside of Chicago, attended Culver Military Academy and graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Biology. He loves adventurous outdoor activities like sailing, boating, skiing, cycling, hiking, hunting, and fishing. He is very active in the community, serving in organizations such as: Mecklenburg Boy Scouts Executive Board, Charlotte Rotary and Charlotte Executive Club. Alan has spent his career building the Simonini brand and reputation, a highlight being when the company achieved the “Triple Crown” in the home building industry: National Housing Quality Award in 2001 and 2010, America’s Best Builder in 2003 and National Builder of the Year in 2006. His induction into the William S. Marvin Hall of Fame for Residential Design is an honor Alan is particularly proud of.

Bob Pugh
President of Renovations and Home Services

Growing up in a historic 1800’s farmhouse that his family remodeled room by room created a curiosity and love for the craftsmanship that goes into old homes. Years later, this appreciation led him to a career in remodeling in the historic districts of Boston, MA and Portsmouth, NH. As the head of the Renovations division, Bob prides himself on being a good listener and loves the collaboration between clients and the design/construction team. When Bob isn’t collaborating with the design build team on the latest project, he can often be found on the golf course, on his bike, or in the Lowcountry with his wife Diane and their two rescues, Lucy and Roxie.

Domenic Verni
Director of Construction

Domenic was born and raised in Buffalo, NY. With over 30 years’ experience in home building, his passion for the construction process and bringing homeowners their dream home so they can make lasting memories for their families is what drives him to be the best. He and his wife reside in South Charlotte. He has two sons, one in college and the other also in the construction industry. Domenic is a licensed General Contractor in North and South Carolina, with a degree in Building Construction from Alfred State College in Alfred, NY. In 2019, Domenic won the Best of the Lake Awards (Lake Norman), and in 2023 he won the MAME Leadership Award by the HGABC.

Jai Folk
Director of Design

Jai joined Simonini Homes in 2017 as Lead Designer in the New Construction division. She won the North Carolina Home Builder’s Association MAME Award for “Design Professional of the Year” in 2019 and 2021. She managed her own Interior Design Business from 2001- 2011 when she transitioned into custom home building. Jai was brought on as the Director of Design for Simonini as the brand has continued to grow with New Custom Homes, Luxury Communities and the Commercial Division. Jai has lived in Charlotte since 1989, is married and has six young adult children.
